52 Week Challenge - Week 13

April is crazy Birthday month in my family....most of our friends and family have a Birthday this month!  "Planning" was the perfect theme for this week's challenge.  Right now i'm planning my son's 10th Birthday party.  He wants a Pokemon theme but there doesn't seem to be much in the stores so i'm having to make everything myself.  Here are the invitations that i'm working on:

I used one of my son's Pokeballs as a model and tried to copy it by tracing a small round bowl on white cardstock and cutting it out.  I then did the same thing with red card stock and cut the circles in half.  I glued the red half circle to the white circle then used my circle punch to punch out a small circle for the centre.  I thought it would be cute if the small circle stuck out (would look more like a button) so i used some 3D dimensional stickers that i had to attach the circle.  I then finished them off by taking a black marker and adding a line across the whole thing and around the centre circle.   I'm going to print out the party details and glue them on the back and voila, an invitation!  My son loves them!  I'm thinking the front is a bit plain so I might write "I choose you" on it.  Now to figure out the actual party!  I think I might make bigger versions of the pokeballs for decorations and have lots of red, white and black balloons.  The cake will probably just be a round cake decorated to look like a pokeball.

Winning Belly - Kanata Maternity Photographer

I had the pleasure of taking pictures of my belly contest winner and her family last week.  It's a good thing we did it when we did because her son decided to arrive 2 and a half weeks early shortly after the photo session!  I can't wait to meet the little guy and take his newborn photos!

52 Week Challenge - Week 12

This week's challenge was Spring.  I just love it when all the plants start to grow through all the dreary looking dead leaves and the landscape turns from brown to green...can't wait for the next couple of weeks when the flowers start coming out!  I've already noticed some crocuses at my parents' place.

52 Week Challenge - Week 11

This week's theme of "Underneath" was a lot of fun!  I was thinking of all these cool things to try then on Friday, I was having a blast playing with my God-daughter and she decided to crawl under her mom's legs which gave me the perfect pictures for my theme.  Sometimes spontaneous moments are even better than trying to plan something!

I just met a wonderful family that is patiently waiting for the newest addition to their family later this month.    The baby girl is going to be gorgeous...check out the beautiful genes in this family!

52 Week Challenge - Week 10

This week's theme was "Vegetables".  I decided to focus on a vegetable that we haven't seen much of in our house in the last several years until recently.  You see, my son has a bunch of allergies including an allergy to cucumber but recently we just found out that he's outgrown his cucumber allergy...woohoo!  Now i'm keeping my fingers crossed that his other allergies will disappear.

52 Week Challenge - Week 9

This weeks theme of "Spirit" was really challenging for me and I struggled to figure out what I wanted to take a photo of.  Fortunately, my son happened to have a Futsal game on the weekend which gave me some inspiration....Team Spirit!  For those of you that don't know what futsal is, it's very similar to soccer but it's much faster and it takes place indoors in a gymnasium.
