52 Week Challenge - Week 47

This week's theme was "Gathering".  We celebrated an early Christmas with my side of the family yesterday so I took some snap shots of the day.  It was such a fun time!

if you would like to play along, next week's theme is "Beyond Reach"

Family of 5 - Kanata Family Photographer

After rescheduling twice due to the rain, I was finally able to meet up with this wonderful family.  I met Mom back when we used to work together as teenagers (I won't say where :)) so it was great to meet her beautiful family!

It was really cold outside so there was a lot of cuddling going on!

They even brought their adorable 10 month old dog Racy along

Every year they give the Grandparents a photo of all their Grandchildren so the two cousins stopped by for a couple of photos.

The kids were so well behaved that it was easy to get a shot of all of them and even little Racy!

52 Week Challenge - Week 46

This week's theme is "Music".

My daughter just started learning an instrument at school last year and I thought she was crazy to pick out Trombone (it's so heavy to carry around!) but she's really enjoying it.  I love that it makes a nice deep sound so even when she messes up when practicing, it doesn't sound like fingernails scratching on a chalkboard.  :)

I'm really proud of her and how how quickly she's learnt how to play.  I was going to do a little photo shoot of her but she's sick right now so here's a picture of her from last december right before her first concert with her school band.  They did really great and my favourite song was called Creatures in the Night.  The trombones had a big part in it...it's a nice creepy sounding song!  I didn't think to take a video of her band playing it but click here and you can hear what the song sounds like.

52 Week Challenge - Week 45

This week's theme was wind.  My grandmother used to have a bunch of wind chimes and other wind objects hanging outside her house that she loved to look at.  When she passed away almost exactly 4 years ago, I decided to bring one of her wind chimes home with me.  I hung them on the back of the house and whenever we get a bit of wind, I hear them and think of her...I just love them!

here's a picture my father took years ago of me with my Grandmother and cousin....love it!  Don't you just love all the hairstyles?!

Beautiful Mother and her Grown Children - Ottawa Family Photography

I met up with this fun family at Andrew Haydon Park.   I thought it was so sweet that daughter and son bought their mother a session...what a fantastic gift and keepsake!

Isn't this the cutest?!  I hope my son still cuddles me like this when he's an adult!

I love this photo - beautiful girl and beautiful background!

It was a dreary day but we managed to get the photo shoot in before it started to rain.

I loved how well these two got along (can't say the same thing about my own kids...maybe they won't fight so much when they're older :))

52 Week Challenge - Week 44

This week's theme was texture.  I just love the texture of flowers and happened to be given a beautiful bouquet this past week so had a blast playing with my camera.

here's my favourite shot...I love that you can see the veins on the side of the petal

52 Week Challenge - Week 43

This week's theme was "Memories".  Since it was Halloween on Wednesday, I thought it would be fun to go back and look at some old Halloween pictures of the kids.

Here's one of them from 8 years ago, aren't they cute?!  It feels like they were just this age, it's hard to believe they're now10 and 13 years old!

Here's one from this year.  My daughter is so tall that I think this will be her last time trick or treating.
