52 Week Challenge - Week 8

Happy Monday!

This week's theme was "Romance" so I thought it would be the perfect time to document a tradition that my husband started when I was pregnant with my first child 13 years ago and having cravings. :)  On Friday evenings, he makes a batch of nachos for us to enjoy while we relax and unwind from a busy week.  He lines up the tortilla chips (usually scoops) and makes sure to put the perfect amount of salsa and cheese in each one...I like spicier foods so he puts a piece of jalapeno pepper in each one of mine.  It's probably not what you would think of when you hear the word Romance but I think it's really sweet and look forward to my Friday evenings with him!

If you would like to play along, next week's theme is "Spirit".

Have a great week,
Michelle

Photography Lessons

I'm very honoured to be a guest blogger on the popular Adventures in Dinner blog.  If you would like to improve your photography, head on over to the blog once a month and check them out.   I think it's important to document one's life in pictures (especially your family and children, time goes by way too fast!) so I've geared the lessons for everyone...you don't need a fancy camera to do them!

If you would like to see this month's lesson, click here.

I've also set up a flickr group for anyone that would like to play along with the lessons.

Hope you enjoy them,
Michelle

52 Week Challenge - Week 7

I've always wanted to get a picture of everyone's eyes in my family so was happy when I saw that this week's theme was "Body Parts".  I love seeing the differences in everyone's eye colours especially my human son...his are so cool, they look like a mix of my blue on the outside and my husband's green on the inside.

My kids want me to print them out and hang them in our washroom but I think it might be too creepy for guests!  :)  If you would like to play along, next week's theme is "Romance"

52 week Challenge - Week 6

This week's theme is "Quiet".

I spent this past weekend at a cottage with some great friends.  I was one of the first ones to arrive so I was able to do a bit of relaxing and start the next book for my book club.  The quiet was wonderful!

If you would like to play along, next week's theme is body parts...should be an interesting one!  :)

Beautiful Two Year Old

I look forward to my annual Birthday shoot with my adorable God-Daughter.  This year she turned two so I thought it was going to be a challenge...she made me work hard but we had a lot of fun and got some adorable shots.   Check out her First Birthday and Newborn pictures...she's grown so much.

She's so photogenic and has lots of great expressions!

52 Week Challenge - Week 5

This week's theme was "sleep".  I had big plans of getting a beautiful angelic photo of one of my kids sleeping.  It didn't work out well with my two human children so I had to settle for my furry one.

Buddy loves to sleep on my office floor when i'm working at the computer.  I often forget he's there then get startled when he's having a dream and starts moving his legs in his sleep...I think he's dreaming about chasing squirrels.  The photo isn't sweet and angelic but at least it makes me laugh!  :)

If you would like to play along, next week's theme is quiet.

Have a great week,
Michelle

ps.  stayed tuned in the next couple of days for a sneak peek of an adorable 2 year old that I had a photo shoot with on the weekend

Alphabet Project

A project i'm working on for fun this year is an Alphabet project.  It's my goal to take random pictures of things that resemble the letters of the alphabet.  I'm hoping to get at least one photo of each letter.  If anyone would like to play along with me, just let me know...i would love to see what other people come up with.  I'll be posting all the pictures on my personal family blog if you would like to check them out.

Here's my first installment:

Can you guess which letter it's supposed to be?
