It was a cold, wet day but the kids did really well (with the help of a candy bribe :))

Multi-Generation Family
I love watching families grow. The first time I took pictures of this family, their son was just a baby. They then had me back to to newborn photos of their daughter and now this time they brought along great grandma. It was so much fun to do family photos with different generations and I believe that we got some great shots that they will cherish for a long time!

52 Week Challenge - Week 42
Wow, I was so busy last week that I forgot to post my challenge so you get two this week! :) Week 42's theme was "On The Shelf". Those of you that know me well know that I really dislike school photos...the cheesy smile, super bright blue background and the sort of scared/stunned look in the eyes. Over the years, i've stopped even handing them out to family and i only order a sheet of small 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch prints to put in frames I bought for the kids when they were babies. It's fun to see how they've changed by looking on their shelves and seeing their frames. We haven't received this year's pictures yet but here are their frames right now. I can't believe my daughter's frame is more than half full already!
(I've taught my daughter how to do a natural smile so her later smiles aren't so bad...I tell my kids not to say cheese :))
If you would like to play along, the next theme is "Memories"

One of my Favourite Families
It's been a couple of years since I did some photos for them but I was finally able to get my brother's family in front of my camera again. We were short on time but we managed to get quite a few shots that I love!
These two love each other so much!

Fun Family of Five - Ottawa Family Photographer
I had a great time with this playful family...we were a little worried about the rain but it stopped just in time for our photo shoot. We decided to take pictures at Vincent Massey park and it turned out to be a beautiful location!
Here are a few photos of the laughing that was going on!

I loved seeing the different personalities in these adorable 5 year old twins...
and they're equally adorable little sister
Mom and Dad were able to stop and get a little cuddle time in!
52 Week Challenge - Week 41
This week's theme was "my neighbours". My neighbour Monja had a bit of a photographic emergency a few weeks back...she only had a couple of days to send in a headshot for a fitness conference she's going to be speaking at. We only had about 10 minutes but had a great time doing an impromptu mini session on my front steps.

Family of 4 / Kanata Family Photographer
I love taking Family pictures at this time of the year with all the beautiful Fall colours...especially when you get such a wonderful family like this!
The kids were so much fun and were in a great mood even though there were quite a few bugs flying around them
isn't this sweet?! I love getting pictures of just Mom and Dad. Most of the time parents tell me that they haven't had a picture together in ages or since their Wedding Day.
It makes me really happy when people bring their dogs along! Isn't Jessie adorable?

52 Week Challenge - Week 40
this week's theme was "colours". The weather has been getting colder and colder around here so I thought I better pick all the vegetable in my garden before the frost got them...I love all the colours! This year was my first time growing carrots and they ended up being so much tastier than store bought, I will definitely grow them again. Next year I would like to try a few more things, any suggestions?

52 Week Challenge - week 39
This week's theme was "tools". I recently went to a butterfly display at Carleton University which featured 1,300 butterflies...it's so beautiful to watch the butterflies fly around (it's on until october 8th if you want to check it out). I thought i would post a picture of a tool a butterfly uses that I think is the coolest thing...it's fancy straw (or in proper terms, it's proboscis)!
I think it's really cool how it curls up when not in use then unravels when they want to drink their food.
here are a few more butterfly shots (I got so many it was hard to narrow it down :))
This one was my favourite butterfly... the Blue Morpho. It is shimmery blue on the backside of it's wings but you can only see it when it's flying (it closes it's wings up when it lands)
